Credit derivatives terminology

Synthetic securitisation: A scheme of securitisation where the investors in the structured products synthetically create an exposure in a portfolio of loans or other assets of an originator, as compared to cash securitisation where such investors acquire, for cash, a beneficial interest in such portfolio.
