Credit derivatives terminology

Regulatory capital relief: Using a credit derivative, securitisation or other transaction to reduce the regulatory requirements of capital adequacy requirements by either transferring assets out, or reducing the risk weights of assets, thus resulting into lower capital requirements, and hence, a relieved capital.
