Credit derivatives terminology

Trading book: With the word “book” referring to business build-up, trading book is the part of business of someone where the main intent is short-term trading profit. For example, trading book of banks is the bank’s business of holding something for trading purposes. Assets forming part of the trading book would mean assets acquired with a trading intent.
