 Credit derivatives in Germany

 

Germany is the hotbed of credit derivatives activity in Europe. The synthetic securitisation activity in Germany has gathered momentum in Germany and the synthetics volume in 2002 far exceeded the cash volume.

Among the key features of the German synthetics market is the synthetic securitisation of SME loans under the KfW's Promise program. In addition, German banks are also active in synthetic securitisation of RMBS and CMBS transactions.
